Our Story:

For 28 years, I served in the US Army, 22 of those as a Green Beret – a career built on dedication, problem-solving, and unwavering commitment. Those years instilled in me the values of discipline, integrity, and service before self. However, upon returning from Afghanistan in 2002, I found myself unexpectedly unemployed when my small engine service business became a casualty of the deployment. A friend’s suggestion led me to Home Depot, which began my professional career in home improvement. While I gained valuable experience, I realized that the corporate world wasn’t the right fit for me; I wanted to build something from the ground up.

Fixin’ the House grew from a simple passion: a love for fixing things and a desire to help my community. I noticed that neighbors and friends needed reliable assistance with their homes, and I knew I could provide it. With a basic tool set, a pickup, and a trailer, I set out in 2016 on a journey that continues today.

The values I learned in the military are the foundation of Fixin’ the House. We approach every project, no matter how unique or difficult, with a problem-solving mindset and meticulous attention to detail. For example, we recently tackled a repair in a home with limited crawlspace access. To reach the area, we opened a subfloor under the stove, essentially creating a “trap door,” allowing us to complete the job efficiently.
